That is the question that plagues most people as they venture into the world, whether it is a real-life dilemma or something online. Just imagine walking into a department store or a supermarket. If you are looking for baby formula but everything is scattered, how are you ever going to find what you are looking for? Only a rare few loves shopping at the pawnshop where nothing is ever the same and they have time to browse around.
It’s not about preference. It is about time. People these days are in such a rush that they need to know what they are looking at and looking for. If you search through Google for “how to find a niche”, it leads to passion. That passion can lead to profit. These are questions that you should ask yourself before looking for a niche.
- what are you good at?
- What can you talk about for days?
- What can you teach someone that you can answer 100 questions about?
- Are you good at writing?
- Are you good at selling things?
- Are you crafty?
- Are you shy in front of the camera?
If you truly believe you fit one of those questions but there is something holding you back, there is always something that you can do to improve. For example, if you believe you are good at writing but you are afraid to get criticized for your work, there are communities out there who will read your work before you publish and there are tools that help you edit your work to sound like a professional.
If you believe you can sell anything, you can start up a Shopify store for as little as $29 a month. Shopify offers dropshipping options or you can also sign up for dropshipping companies elsewhere. Here are a few I know of and if you want to learn more about what dropshipping is, sign up for updates. I will discuss it in a future article.
If you are crafty, you can start an Etsy shop or even a YouTube channel recording your craft. You do not even have to show your face. The best part about owning an Etsy shop is that it is free.
Talking about YouTube, if you are not camera-shy, what are you waiting for? All you need is a camera and jot down ideas on what to talk about. You do not need everything right away. Just be entertaining. People want to hear what you have to say and if you present yourself to the world as someone they can relate to, your chances of holding retention is very high.
Whatever you want to do, just remember that it has to be something that you enjoy because if you dislike it, people can sense it. You don’t want to do what works for others. You want to do what works for you.
Stick around and let’s learn more together.
